Destiny of H.O.P.E., Inc., will operate with a “Rotarian” complexion on issues of great concern, seeking to educate and re-educate those affected by social, economic, and civil deprivation. Our sole mission is two-fold, in that prevention is the order of the day. Working with at-risk and troubled youth gives DOH the platform to hopefully destroy the socio-economic impoverishment “School to Prison Pipeline” by simply listening, addressing, educating, and motivating our youth to dream again.
In addition to our mentorship program for youth, our mission is to provide necessary resources and educational tools for those re-entering society from incarceration. Our “Re-Entry Program” will fall under a program that shall be called “P.E.A.C.E and H.O.P.E. Mentorship Alliance. We will ensure that those being released from prison are empowered to seize control of their lives with educational opportunities (trades, college, etc.), housing, clothes, employment, mental health classes, etc..
Directors here at DOH understands that poor education and poor self-esteem, immobilized by impoverished conditions, leads to criminal behaviors. In order to end recidivism, we must attempt to address the issues that are making these behaviors possible. Napoleon Hill said it best: “Three of the most stubborn enemies of mankind … are Ignorance, Illiteracy and Poverty.” DOH will fill the gaps and offer those things absent from the lives of many living what they see, and not what they dream.
